21 Oct

The 28th Annual Eastside Culture Crawl returns November 14 – 17, 2024. This 4 day visual arts festival features over 500 artists located in some 55 buildings around Vancouver’s Eastside.  The event is an amazing opportunity to check out the amazing creative talent in this City.

The Eastside Culture Crawl features a wide variety of artists including painters, furniture makers, jewellers, sculptors, potters, photographers, glassblowers and many more mediums. We encourage to take the opportunity to visit artists in their working studios. The Crawl, as it is affectionately known, is a great opportunity to meet the artists and discuss their work and creative process. If you are looking to be inspired, this is event to attend.

The Eastside Culture Crawl runs from November 14 – 17, 2024. November 14th and 15th runs from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and November 16th and 17th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The Eastside Culture Crawl covers a wide geographical area on the Eastside of the City.  We find the Crawl Map to be a great resource in narrowing down artists and locations you may be interested in visiting.   The Eastside Culture Crawl is a free event and open to all ages.  For more information visit, the Eastside Culture Crawl.

The much loved Parade of Lost Souls is back for another with Unplugged.  If you live in East Van, you likely know about this grass-roots festival. Creative direction comes from the folks at The Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret. The event itself encompasses dance, art, music, installations, acting, a parade procession and the much loved Thriller Flash Mob.  For loyal revelers of this event take note, The Parade of Lost Souls happens Friday, November 1st with the procession hitting the streets at 7:30 pm and again at 8:30 pm.  For those with wee ones that have an early bed time, there will be a family-friendly Parade of Little Souls that begins at 6:30 pm.

Everyone is welcome to participate in the Parade of Lost Souls and costumes are encouraged. The location of the event is secret for now but will be announced the week before, but the Britannia Community Centre has been a hub in past years.

As is tradition now with this event, there will be a Thriller Flash Mob in which you can dance alongside professionals. If interested in participating in the flash mob, The Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret will be hosting Thriller Workshops. There is still time to sign up for drop in classes happening on October 13th and October 20th.

The Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret also hosts an After Party which this year takes place at the Biltmore Cabaret. That fun gets underway at 10:30 pm and goes till 2:00 am with live music and other performances.  Tickets are $40 and available online.
