Forest & The Femme is hosting a Spring fundraiser at the Emerald on April 7th. What is Forest & The Femme? It is an outdoor recreation program for marginalized women living in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside community. They provide access to nature for the city’s most vulnerable and isolated women, giving them an opportunity to experience the serenity of the outdoors, learn new skills, socialize safely and eat nutritious food. Their goal is to facilitate a sense of freedom, empowerment and self worth. We think this is a pretty fab organization. All you have to do is show up, support them and have a great time and you will be benefitting many. On April 7th for the cost of your ticket, you experience live sets from East Van producers DJs: Applecat, Bastet, That African & Jonathon Julian, a live performance art collective by Subscura, a special menu and cocktail for the evening’s event. There will also be a silent auction portion featuring items from local artisans, yoga passes and adventure packages among others. Tickets are $21.80 and available from Eventbrite.
