Old Time Dance Party – Wise Hall – January 4th
If you love to square dance, or want to learn, Friday night the Wise Hall is the place to be. Tappalachian String Band provides the tunes while Paul and guest caller Sean Fenstemaker teach and call all the moves right on the floor. Everyone is welcome. Tickets are $17.50 in advance or $25 at the door.
Body Soul Spirit Expo – Croatian Cultural Centre January 4th – 6th
The Body Soul Spirit Expo happens this weekend Friday to Sunday at the Croatian Cultural Centre. Having checked this out last year, there are lectures and workshops that run all day on a variety of topics. Lots of exhibitors with an array of products and services surrounding wellness, alternative therapies, healing arts, intuitive arts, metaphysics, aromatherapy and much more. East Van Panto: Wizard of Oz – The York Until January 6th
Last weekend to catch the East Van Panto at The York Theatre. This is a whole lot of fun for all ages. We highly recommend this for a fun night out, or if you prefer a matinee. Tickets available via The Cultch.
Baba Yaga & The Black Flower – Vancouver Puppet Theatre – January 5th
Looking for something to do with the young ones indoors? Vancouver Puppet Theatre is offering two shows this Saturday at 2050 Scotia Street at Noon. First up is Baba Yaga & The Black Flower with marionettes and next is Kind Heart using shadows. Tickets are $10 at the door. For more info, visit Vancouver Puppet.
Lord Of The Rings Trilogy Marathon – Rio Theatre – January 5th & 6th
If you are a Lord Of The Rings fan, you may wish to check out the movie marathon happening at the Rio Theatre this Saturday and Sunday. The first part Saturday kicks off at Noon sharp but doors open at 10:30 am. It is recommended to come early to grab a good seat. Costumes are encouraged. Comedy, Entertainment & Live Music
Looking for live music, Libra Room on The Drive has a regular line up of music. Tangent Café hosts live jazz Sunday nights from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Saturday, Pat’s Pub has live jazz Saturday afternoons from 3-7 pm, no cover.
We are back to two farmer markets this weekend. Saturday is Riley Park Farmers Market 10 am – 2 pm. Sunday is Hastings Park Farmers Market also 10 am – 2 pm.
