The popular Trout Lake Outdoor Summer Concert Series is back for another year starting Wednesday, July 10th. The free outdoor summer concerts take place behind Trout Lake Community Centre, 3360 Victoria Drive, near the children’s playground and tennis courts. This is an annual event hosted by the Trout Lake Community Centre with concerts taking place every Wednesday evening throughout the summer rain or shine. If it rains, concerts go indoors to the Grandview Room. We’ve had the opportunity to take in some of the concerts on a nice summer evening and we have to say, it is a pretty perfect way to spend an evening. Bring a blanket, your friends, family, kids or the dog or all of the above and a picnic and you are set. If you aren’t able to organize a picnic, you can grab some food at the Carousel Café. We have set out the musical line up for this summer below. Each evening kicks off at 6:30 pm. Dancing is encouraged.
For those that love the lantern processions around Trout Lake, take note. On the very last concert of the summer, August 21st there will be a lantern procession around the lake led by The Carnival Band from 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Be sure to take in this great summer event.

We know many people search our site looking for the Illuminares Lantern Festival and Procession from days gone past. We hear from many people that are disappointed that this large scale event no longer takes place. The Illuminares Lantern Festival took on a life of its own over its 25 year run. It drew large crowds upwards of 20,000 people to John Hendry Park. Although this event is no longer, you may be pleased to know that
We know many people search our site looking for the Illuminares Lantern Festival and Procession. We also know many, like us, are disappointed that this event is no longer. The event took on a life of its own over its 25 year run and grew to draw 20,000 people to John Hendry Park. The Illuminares Lantern Festival was put on under the direction of The Public Dreams Society which has since disbanded. What we did learn recently though is that
