Sauvignon Blanc Cheese Tasting March 28, 2021 With les amis du FROMAGE

On the success of their recent Facebook Live tasting event, les amis du FROMAGE has lined up another event for cheese and wine lovers. Host Allison Spurrell will again be leading this 1 hour tasting which features the wine varietal Sauvignon Blanc. The tasting package is featured for 2 people and includes:

Cheese (8 types)
Crackers
Olives
Accompaniment
Tasting menu

Heads up, the wine is not included in the ticket price, but they have partnered with Marquis Wine Cellars who have helped choose the best pairings as well as a discount. After you purchase your ticket, you will be contacted by les amis du FROMAGE with a discount code for the suggested wines which we’ve set out below.

Valentine’s Day Cheese Tasting Event For Two – SOLD OUT

Like many things this past year, Valentine’s Day will be a little different. Whether you believe in the ‘day’ or not, there’s no harm in showing some love to those you care about whether that’s your partner or a close friend. For us cheese, wine, chocolate and bread is just a little piece of heaven. With that in mind, we wanted to share a fun event the good folks at les amis du FROMAGE are hosting. It is a virtual Facebook Live event hosted by Allison Spurrell. Les amis du FROMAGE will set you up with a tasting kit to pick up just prior to Valentine’s Day which includes:

Cheese (8 types)
Crackers
Chez Christophe flutes
Accompaniments 
Kasama Karkar Island dark chocolate bar
Tasting menu

The Facebook Live event runs for one hour. Cost is $95 for your kit loaded with delish goodies which will be available for pick up from the East Vancouver store on 3 different days. Les Amis du Fromage Announces Wine & Cheese Tastings Coming This Fall

If you love wine and cheese, you will want to to check out some of tastings that les amis du Fromage has coming this Fall to their East Van location (843 East Hastings Street). If are enjoying Summer and thinking Fall is a long ways off, well these courses are not really that far off .  We’ve set out the two tastings coming up:

Blue Mountain Cheese Tasting-October 21, 2019

Blue Mountain Vineyards and Cellars is located in Okanagan Falls and is a great winery to visit with some beautiful wines.  But you don’t have to travel to the Okanagan to taste some of their wines, you can just make your way to les amis du fromage  on October 21st. Tasting kicks off at 6:30. Tickets are $80. To purchase tickets, visit les amis du Fromage.

Little Farm Winery – November 4, 2019

The Little Farm Winery is based in Cawston, BC and is a small producer of single vineyard Chardonnay. Tasting kicks off at 6:30 pm on November 4th. Tickets again are $80. If you don’t already know les amis du FROMAGE, has been voted “Best Cheese Shop” by readers of The Georgia Straight and The Courier repeatedly.  They have another location in Kitsilano, but the tasting events are being held at the East Van location. Tickets for these tastings are available online. Although these classes seems a little ways off into the future, these classes do sell out quickly. If interested, we suggest you reserve your spot(s). Refunds aren’t given, but you can transfer your spot to someone else.

Luppolo Brewing Co. and les amis du fromage have teamed up to bring you an evening of Beer & Cheese Pairing Tuesday, October 23, 2018.  Head Brewer, Ryan Parfitt, of Luppolo and Allison Spurrell of les amis du fromage will guide you through a selection of Italian themed cheeses which they’ve selected to pair with a variety of beers including some limited and special releases.  Dessert is included in the evening. The event happens at Luppolo Brewing Co., 1123 Venables Street. Tickets are LuppoloBeer$60 and available online through Picatic, or to avoid service charges, you can stop by the brewery to pick up your tickets.

Wine & Cheese Tasting At les amis du Fromage

BlueCheeseIf you haven’t stopped in at les amis du FROMAGE on 843 East Hastings, you are missing out. If you love cheese or want to learn more about cheese, this is the place to go. This fall they will be again be sharing some of their vast knowledge of cheese and offering some great classes in store including:

Wine and Cheese 101 – September 14th 6:30 – 8:30 pm $60

One of the owners Allison Spurrell will provide you with a roadmap for matching various cheese types and the wines that best suit them. Allison will introduce cheese basics, including milk types, textures, flavours, how to care for and serve fine cheeses. You will learn how best to pair wine with cheese. And yes, of course, there will be samples so you can discover what is perfect for you.

Vive la France – October 26th 6:30 – 8:30 pm $65

Allison will take you on a tour of taste with a selection of French cheeses and the many regions they come from. This tasting we hear will will feature some of the best France has to offer and will include wines from the Alsace, Loire valley and Bordeaux.
