The community-oriented Eastside Flea returns to the Wise Hall, 1882 Adanac Street, this Saturday, February 21st. As usual, they’ve got a great line up of local vendors which will sell everything from mid-century furniture to records to new works by local artists to books to vintage items and so much more. For this weekend’s market, you can expect to local artist, Andrea Hooge, with handdrawn magnets, prints & pins. We are hearing about an amazing handmade soap with pine, cedarwood atlas, eucalyptus, fir, patchouli and black pepper by Product of Science and Art. The Eastside Flea is an all ages event. Admission is $2.00. Eastside Flea runs from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Eastside Flea returns to the Wise Hall with Deck The Halls this Saturday, December 20th. If you are looking for vintage finds, this is the place to be. There will be over 40 local vendors on hand including Would Boards with locally made wooden skateboards and Forest And The Femme with nature inspired arrangements for your holiday table and of course many more. You will also find carolers making the rounds to keep you in the holiday season. Bring a non-perishable food donation and receive a $1.00 off admission. The Notch Coffee and Local Omnivore food trucks will be located outside keeping everyone caffeinated and fed. The Wise Hall is located at 1887 Adanac Street and the event runs from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. All ages welcome.

Now that Spring is officially here, they’ve got a great line up of over 40 local vendors which will sell everything from mid-century furniture to records to new works by local artists to books to vintage items and so much more. For this weekend’s market, you will also find the ladies from Victory Gardens out front. Also, Dickie’s Ginger will be on site with their Ginger Beer using real ginger no artificial extracts or flavours. The Eastside Flea is an all ages event. Admission is $2.00. Eastside Flea runs from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you miss this weekend’s market, more Spring dates will be announced soon, but one confirmed date is a Mother’s Day Market on Saturday, May 10th.

You can expect to find collectibles, records, antiques, vintage clothing, books, local artists such as RISH Jewelry with some handmade rings and, of course, so much more. The Flea gets under way at 10:00 a.m. and goes till 4:00 p.m. All ages welcome. Admission is $1.00. If you miss it this weekend, the next scheduled dates at the Wise Hall are February 22nd, March 8th & 22nd and April 12th.

Like past events, you will find an array of items from collectibles such as Lux Ivy’s vinyl collection to beautiful handmade leather pieces by HJN Carry Goods Co. Also on hand will be the Candy Meister Food Truck which will have natural and gluten free candies from Germany available. For those planning to hit the market early, you can skip the coffee and head right to the market and enjoy your coffee by JJ Bean Coffee Roasters which will be on hand. And to go with that coffee, a delicious chocolate croissant from the East Village Bakery. The Flea gets under way at 10:00 a.m. and goes till 4:00 p.m. If you miss it this weekend, the next scheduled dates are October 19, November 16 and December 21st .

4 JunThe ever popular Eastside Flea returns to the Wise Hall, 1882 Adanac Street (Venables & Victoria) on Saturday, June 8th. A great selection of collectibles will be on hand again as well as some new artisans including RISH jewelry, Big Starr Vintage, Retro Specks sunglasses and Window Arcades. The Eastside Flea gets under way at 10:00 a.m. and goes till 4:00 p.m. If you can’t make this Saturday, their next two dates have been scheduled which will be July 13th and August 17th. After all that shopping, you might get a little hungry? Why not pop into Woodland Smokehouse & Commissary, 485 Commercial Drive (at East Hastings Street) for a snack or something to go. They are located just a mere six blocks from the Wise Hall ie. easy walking distance. Woodland Smokehouse has a a great selection of in-house and locally made delectable goodies. As well they carry products from Cartems Donuterie, Earnest Ice Cream, RainCity Soups, Golden Ears Cheesecrafters to name just a few and last but not least their own amazing selection of smoked meats and sausages. Although yes I stocked up on Earnest Ice Cream while I was there, I also tried their Moroccan Chicken Pie which I highly recommend. The flavours were amazing. Woodland Smokehouse is a perfect spot to pick up some items for that last minute picnic or quick dinner on the way home when you are too tired to cook. It’s a great little spot worth checking out. They are open Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Second Time Around, Eastside Flea – Saturday April 20th
14 AprIf you missed the first Eastside Flea in March, well you are in luck. The Flea will be back this Saturday, April 20th at the Wise Hall, 1882 Adanac Street. The rafters will be filled with vintage items once again, but as before there well be new items available including handmade leather goods by Hannah Newton and Dominic Tweed. New vendors on board this time around include Eastside Re-Rides with leather goods and Jordan River Soap Works with handmade products. The Flea runs from 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Organizers lucked out with a perfect sunny day the first go around in March, here’s hoping for the same the second time around.
