Live Music with Adyn Townes & Poor Nameless Boy – Café Deux Soleils – April 12th
Singer and songwriter, Adyn Townes, performs at Café Deux Soleils Friday night. Adyn hails from Canada’s East Coast where storytelling is a way of life and is a big part of his music. Performance kicks off at 8:00 pm. Cover is $10.
PAWS Appreciation Event – Tisol Grandview Highway – April 13th
Calling all animal lovers! This Saturday you are invited to stop by Tisol Granrday, 3033 Grandview Highway, to meet some puppies that will be available for adoption from 11:00 am to Noon, but don’t rush off too quick, there are other dogs coming from 1:00 – 2:00 pm that will also be available for adoption. You are also invited to bring your pet, cat, dog, bird, as there will be a photo booth so you can bring your pet to have a photo taken. All proceeds from the photo booth go to Thank Dog I am Out Dog Rescue Society.
Vaisakhi Parade – Main Street – April 13th
The Vaisakhi Parade happens this Saturday, April 13th on Vancouver’s Main Street. This harvest festival is tradition, amazing food and quite the community celebration. The parade begins at the Ross Street Temple, 8000 Ross Street and travels West on SE Marine Drive and turning up Main Street and then heads East on 49th Avenue, South on Fraser Street then carries on East on 57th and South on Ross Street. Bohemian Rhapsody – Sing-A-Long Version – Rio Theatre April 13th
Love the music of Queen? How about belting it out with the rest of the theatre? The Rio Theatre hosts a Sing-A-Long Version of Bohemian Rhapsody this Saturday night at 7:30 pm. To get your tickets, visit the Rio Theatre.
Impromptu Cabaret Festival – Havana Vancouver – April 13th
You are invited to get up close and personal with this 1 hour cabaret show. The show features musical theatre along with performers, topics expected to delight. Nifty For Fifty – Heritage Hall – April 14th
Looking for a great deal from local designers? Nifty For Fifty is back at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, this Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Expect to find everything from jewellery to kids clothing, bags, pottery, vintage and more. Some items up to 80% off and everything is $50 or less. Admission is $2.00 at the door.
Main Street Mixed Bag – The Ellis Building – April 14th
The Main Street Mixed Bag is back at The Ellis Building, 1024 Main Street. This is as the name implies a mixed bag of yard sale vendors, collectibles, vintage and handmade. Entry is free and dogs are welcome. The market happens 11:00 am – 6:00 pm.
The Tashme Project: The Living Archives – Firehall Arts Centre
The Tashme Project: The Living Archives wraps up at the Firehall Arts Centre on April 13th. The Living Archives traces the history and common experience of the Nisei (second generation Japanese Canadians) through childhood, internment in Canada during the Second World War, and post-war resettlement east of the Rockies. This production is an embodiment of Nisei character, language, spirit and story, and brings to light a part of Canadian history.

Looking for more live music, did you know The Heatley in Strathcona regularly features live music? Every Sunday they offer bluegrass music with brunch 11 am – 3 pm.
Also 7 days a week, you will find live music at the Libra Room on The Drive. Tangent Café hosts live jazz Sunday nights from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Saturday, Pat’s Pub has live jazz Saturday afternoons from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm, no cover.
