Winter Craft Market At River District December 1st

The River District, 8683 Kerr Street, is hosting a Winter Craft Market this Sunday, December 1st from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. You can expect to find lots of one-of-a-kind gifts.   Some of the vendors taking place in this Sunday’s market include Marley Bike Caffee, Ceiba Gourmet, The Salt Dispensary, momomints, Morgan’s Pillows, Kaoriya Felted Hats, Art to Wear, Phaedra Skin Care Products  and many more.  Note many of the vendors are cash only, although some may accept credit cards. As an added bonus, the first 50 shoppers will receive a free River District umbrella which is timely now that the rain is back.

Pet Pictures with Santa at the Vancouver SPCA December 1st

PetPhotosWithSantaDec1stCome out and support the Vancouver SPCA this weekend by bringing your pet for a photo with Santa.  The event will take place at the BC Vancouver SPCA Branch, 1205 East 7th Avenue, from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.   For a $20 donation, you will receive a digital photograph with 100% of the proceeds going to support the animals in the Vancouver Shelter. While you are at the shelter, feel free to drop off an item from their Wish List. The Vancouver SPCA is always grateful to receive donations in kind of items they use often such as canned or dry cat & dog food, treats are also welcomed. They can also use Cherrios, Craisens and Shreddies for the small animals which they love.  Gently used bedding and towels are always needed as are toys to keep animals from getting bored or frustrated.  Every donation counts no matter how small.  If you wish to see the other items the Vancouver SPCA is grateful to receive, visit their website at Vancouver SPCA.

SPCAChristmasSaleYou are invited to the annual Friends of the SPCA Christmas Sale this Saturday, November 30th.  The event will take place at the Army, Navy & Air Force Veteran’s Club, 3917 Main Street.  You can expect to find many handmade items, collectibles, homemade baking and great gifts for Christmas. They will also be having a draw for some beautiful gift baskets as well as a 50/50 draw.  All proceeds benefit the BC SPCA Vancouver Branch.  Things kick off at 10:00 a.m. and go till 3:00 p.m. Come out and support this great event!

Funny lady, Sara Bynoe, is showcasing her next installment of Deliciously Rotten Writing this Friday, November 29th at Hot Art Wet City, 2206 Main Street. In honour of the upcoming filming of Fifty Shades of Grey in Vancouver, Sara will be highlighting the absurdity within the pages of this book as well as those following in the series, Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed. This promises to be an entertaining evening and then some. There is limited seating available. If you wish to attend this event, tickets are $10 available online at EventBrite. Doors open 7:30 pm. Fundraiser #Unbreakable at Fets Whisky Kitchen Tuesday November 26th

FetsWhiskeySignFets Whisky Kitchen, 1230 Commercial Drive, has partnered with June Iida of RE/MAX Crest Realty Westside and local artist, Laurell, to present #UNBREAKABLE.  #Unbreakable is a fundraiser for the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.  The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre provides a safe place for women and children in the Downtown Eastside. They provide support, basic necessities and hot nutritious meals to over 300 women and children every day.

You are invited to this great event which will feature cocktails and appetizers starting at 6:00 p.m and a silent auction as well as live entertainment by local artist, Laurell. Tickets for the event are available online only for $45. Tickets will not be available at the door.

Strathcona Winter Craft Fair November 30th

You are invited to the 3rd Annual Strathcona Winter Craft Fair. The event will take place at the Strathcona Community Centre, 601 Keefer Street from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm this Saturday, November 30th. There will be many great local artisans on hand with beeswax candles, tea, holiday gift cards, sea salts, organic spices, jewellery, pottery, hats, honey, sock monkeys and much more. The Gourmet Warehouse, 1340 East Hastings Street, invites you to their annual Private Shopping Night on Thursday, November 28th. Winter Shop Opening at Le Marche St. George November 23rd

This Saturday, November 23rd, you are invited to the opening of the Winter Shop at Le Marche St. George, 4393 St. George (at 28th Avenue).  Come sip some mulled wine and take in all the beautiful items they have on hand.  You can expect to find some twig laced wool blankets from Mexico, a new line of basics from local fashion designer, Mandula, Scatter/Gather pendant lights from Hinterland Design and jewellery by Melissa Hudson.  All merchandise will be 20% for one day only this Saturday for the opening of their Winter Shop. The shop is open Saturday & Sunday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and will continue till December 31st.    If you are attending the Vancouver Farmers Market at Nat Bailey this or any other Saturday, Le Marche St. George is a hop, skip and a jump away and a great spot to stop and have a coffee and croissant and warm up after the market.
