Shiny Fuzzy Muddy At The Heritage Hall December 12 & 13

ShinyFuzzyMuddyShiny Fuzzy Muddy is back at the beautiful historic Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, December 12 & 13. This collaborative event is brought to you by 4 core members and local makers, Janna Hurtzig, Kari Woo, Arleigh Wood and Frances Dickinson. They formed a non-profit collective to create events that bring art to people.  Shiny Fuzzy Muddy brings together 25 local artists to meet and share their craftsmanship in an environment that opposes the large mass produced products.   They hand pick the artists that join them each year so you can expect some returning favourites as well as some new guest artists that will be exhibiting their work. This year you will find jewellery, ceramics, fine art, clothing, textiles from local artists including Toodlebunny, Arleigh Wood, Julie MacKinnon Ceramics, Westerly Shoes, LUprints, Daub & Design, Adhesif Clothing Company and kari woo contemporary art jewellery, flight path designs to be name but a few.   Shiny Fuzzy Muddy runs Saturday, December 12th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 13th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. 1st Annual Iced Tea Festival At Heritage Hall July 19, 2015

IcedTea2BenEarwickerWell it’s summer and having a refreshing drink close at hand is certainly front and center on our minds these days. So this upcoming event caught our eye.  On Sunday, July 19th Tea Sparrow is hosting the 1st Annual Iced Tea Festival at the Heritage Hall. As many know, tea has been gaining in popularity in recent years for many reasons including the many touted health benefits.  At the upcoming Iced Tea Festival, you will have the opportunity to sample and score 16 different iced loose leaf teas from Germany, Canada and the U.S.A.  Co-Founder of Tea Sparrow Michael Menashy says “This is going to be an incredibly exciting and interactive event. Where else do you get to try every tea on display, score card it, and have your opinions help shape and change the flavour of the industry?”   The 1st Annual Iced Tea Festival takes place at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street on Sunday, July 19th and gets underway at 11:00 am and goes till 6:00 pm.  Tickets are available in advance – 2 for $10 for adults or $10 each at the door and children under 12 are free. Main Street Vinyl Record Fair May 10 At Heritage Hall

RecordPlayerThe very popular Main Street Vinyl Record Fair  is back this Sunday, May 10th at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street, for a ONE DAY SALE. If you are looking to buy, sell or trade new and/or used vinyl records, this is the place to be. You can expect to find LPs, 45s, 78s, turntables, vintage audio gear, record storage and so much more with over 50 independent vendors. That translates to over 50,000 vinyl records on sale. This is the place to discover rare records and stock up on bargain classics. The Main Street Vinyl Record Fair gets under way at 11:00 am and goes till 5:00 pm. Admission is $4.00 for adults, kids are free.

Blim Market At The Heritage Hall March 8th

blimmarket2015Blim Market takes places this Sunday, March 8th at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street. There will be 48 local vendors on hand with an array of items including handmade accessories, jewellery, vintage items, pottery, cards, gifts and sweet treats. A few of the vendors we hear that will on site include first timer, Rescued Clothing Co., with their collection of upcycled t-shirts. There will also be favourite Blim Market vendor Galit Mastai DesignProduct of Science and Art with beautiful natural soaps. As well, Barefoot Books will have a great selection of children’s books. Entry for the Blim Market is by donation and the event runs from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Hot food will be on hand by Open Sesame. Also, if you time it right, there will be two free raffle draws at 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm for $25 Blim Gift Certificates.

They hand pick the artists that join them each year so you can expect some returning favourites as well as some new guest artists that will be exhibiting their work. You can expect to find jewellery, ceramics, fine art, clothing, textiles from local artists including Toodlebunny, Julie MacKinnon Ceramics, Heather Konschuh Glass, Daub & Design, Adhesif Clothing Company and kari woo contemporary art jewellery to be name but a few.   Shiny Fuzzy Muddy runs Saturday, December 13th from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 14th from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Admission is $2.00.

Nifty For Fifty Sale Heritage Hall Sunday April 6th

One of the best sales in the City is back on Sunday, April 6th at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street.  Nifty for Fifty was founded by Adhesif Clothing designer, Melissa Ferreira, seven years ago. The sale is a way for designers to show gratitude to their customers by clearing out local merchandise all of which is $50 or less.  Melissa says “Our loyal shoppers know that this is the only sale where you can get three outfits for the price of one.” You can expect to find clothing, jewelry, bags, scarves and much more by 30 local designers. Some local designers that will be on hand include Adhesif Clothing, Allison Wonderland, Bronsino, Bueno StyleDaub & Design, Elroy Apparel, Flightpath, Floating Gold Iceberg, Irit Sorokin Designs, Kdon, Shop Cocoon and Toodlebunny. This year, they have added handmade children’s clothes by Green Ladybug Designs.  A number of items available will be up to 80% off. So mark your calendar for this shopping event, but do remember to bring cash, as this is a mainly cash event. And do come early to beat out the crowds and get the best selection.  The sale starts at 11:00 a.m. and goes to 8:00 p.m. Admission is $1 at the door.

6thAnnualNiftyForFiftySale If you are passionate about supporting local designers, then this is the place to be next weekend.  The 6th Annual Nifty for Fifty Sale takes place on Sunday, April 14th at the Heritage Hall, 3102 Main Street.  This blowout sale features over 30 Vancouver designers including Adhesif Clothing, Daub & Design and MeiKu Designs.  It is way for local designers to give back to their loyal customers, as all items are priced $50 or less. You will find clothing, shoes, hats and women’s accessories as well as a few vintage items.  The sale runs from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Admission is $1.00 at the door.  As many of the vendors are cash only, you may wish to make a stop at the ATM first so you don’t miss out on that great find.
