One of our favourite East Van artists, June Hunter, is having her annual Festive Studio Sale December 12th to 14th.  If you don’t know her work, June has a way with nature that shows in all her pieces.  Her work has been featured in Style at Home House and Home and Where Vancouver as well as on CBC’s Living Vancouver.

This December you are invited into her studio ‘where the magic happens’ and by doing so, find yourself some great deals on her work.  You can expect to find discounts on jewellery, tiles, magnets and wood panels as well as the opportunity to see some of her larger pieces as well as one of a kinds.  Snacks and refreshments will be served among the twinkly lights around her studio, those June says the squirrels didn’t eat last year.  June Hunter’s Studio is located at 2785 Parker Street (one block west of Renfrew – between Hastings St. and First Avenue). The Studio Sale takes place Friday, December 12th from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm,  Saturday, December 13th from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday, December 14th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

If you are not able to attend the Festive Studio Sale, you can also catch June at The Make It Show happening at the PNE Forum Building, 2901 E. Hastings Street, December 4th – 7th   Should you miss either of these two events, you can also visit her Shop Online or find some of her work at Doctor Vigari Gallery, 1816 Commercial Drive.

Pop Up Shop at les amis du Fromage With 3 Local Vendors November 22nd and 23rd

16 Nov

TheLemonSquare2Les amis du FROMAGE is hosting another delicious Pop Up Shop during the weekend of the Eastside Culture Crawl. Their East Van location at 843 East Hastings is a hop, skip and jump from many of the artist studios participating in the Eastside Culture Crawl on November 22nd and 23rd. We encourage you to stop by les amis du Fromage between Noon and 4:00 pm to check out one of these great local vendors.  On hand will be The Salty Cookie Company which is the brainchild of Meredith Kaufman who has been a pastry chef for many years and The Lemon Square which make delicious handmade lemon squares with fresh lemons, butter and a dusting of coconut. Very addictive speaking from experience.  Natalie Ferrari-Morton brings you her locally made East Van Jams.  Natalie is all about “more love, less sugar”. Unlike conventional jams, East Van Jam is made with a 4:1 fruit to sugar ratio. That means four cups of real fruit (not juice from concentrate) to one cup of sugar and using 95% BC grown fruit (organic as often as possible and some straight from East Van backyards).  You can bet there will be lots of samples on hand.  Les amis du fromage will be open from 10:00 am- 6:00 pm during the weekend of the Eastside Culture Crawl (November 22nd & 23rd). Come out and support these budding entrepreneurs and, of course, the artists participating in the Eastside Culture Crawl!
