Gourmet Warehouse Cooking Classes This Fall

Gourmet Warehouse has a great line up of cooking classes to this Fall. If you haven’t already experienced one of their classes, it is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening with some like-minded food lovers. If you have participated, you know it’s a great way to pick up some knowledge and some great tips in the kitchen. Added bonus is after each cooking class all the participants are offered a 10% discount for purchases made the day of your class. ITALIAN COMFORT FOOD – SEPTEMBER 24

Chef Giampaolo Posteraro hosts this demonstration cooking class which will teach you how Italians master the art of transforming simple everyday ingredients into spectacular dishes. In this class we hear that you will learn how to make the most simple, inexpensive ingredients shine with expert techniques to elevate your everyday dishes into something amazing. The menu for this upcoming class includes:

DATE NIGHT IN THE GREEK ISLANDS – OCTOBER 2

Chef Deniz Tarakcioglu is back to host this cooking class in which you will learn about the vibrant flavours from this part of the Mediterranean. You and are a partner are invited to immerse yourself in the aromas and tastes of these sun-soaked shores of Greece and learn to prepare a delicious feast. The menu for this upcoming class is set out below:

Vancouver’s Greek Summerfest On Boundary July 6-9 and July 13-16

The very delicious Greek Summerfest on Boundary is back!    If you haven’t checked this event out, it is a true culinary experience you don’t want to miss. Along with great food, they have lots of great entertainment lined up including performances by Jim Byrnes, Johnny & The Walkers, Heart and Sole and Alpha Video and along with many others. Food includes souvlaki, BBQ lamb, spanakopita as well as delicious Greek donuts (loukoumades) which are an absolute must try. We understand vegan options have been added to the menu line up.    Greek Summerfest on Boundary takes place at 4541 Boundary Road at 29th Avenue, close to Moscrop Avenue on the Burnaby side. Admission is free. Greek Summerfest on Boundary July 7-10 and July 14-17, 2022

Greek Summerfest on Boundary is back for its 36th year.   If you haven’t checked this event out, it is a true culinary experience you don’t want to miss.   Along with great food, there is lots of great entertainment by local performers.  Food includes souvlaki, BBQ lamb, spanakopita the ever delicious Greek donuts (loukoumades) one must try.   Greek Summerfest on Boundary takes place at 4541 Boundary Road at 29th Avenue, close to Moscrop Avenue on the Burnaby side.   This year we hear there is also a To Go option for food. Vancouver Greek Summerfest July 4th to July 14th, 2019

GreekSummerFest2019The Vancouver Greek Summerfest is back for its 33rd consecutive year at the edge of East Van, 4541 Boundary Road.  Vancouver Greek Summerfest kicks off Thursday, July 4th and runs till July 14th.  This is a free fun community event with great Greek food including BBQ Lamb, Loukoumade, souvalaki, gyros and more available for purchase. The event features dozen of live singers and dancers on the Performance Stage including belly dancing, folk dancing and Serbian dancing.  Organizers also have a great music line up including performances by bands Zougla, Urban Myth, Asi Somos, Dolphin Jazz and legendary Blues musician Jim Byrnes. If you love George Michael, you may wish to mark July 6th on your calendar, Gotta B George Michael will be performing that day kicking off the fun at 7:30 pm.  When there are not live performances, a DJ will be spinning tunes.   The event takes place in the parking lot behind the Greek Orthodox Community Church of East Vancouver at 4541 Boundary Road which is located on the border of Vancouver and Burnaby.  If you are coming from Vancouver, the intersection is 29th Avenue. If you are coming from Burnaby, it is Moscrop.  The event is free to attend. Note, as there is food and lots of moving bodies, pets are not permitted.  During the week, Monday to Wednesday, activities take place from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm and from Thursday to Sunday, things go from Noon to 11:00 pm. The festival kicks off Thursday, July 6th and runs until Sunday, July 16th.  This is a fun community event with great Greek food including BBQ Lamb, Loukoumade, souvalaki, gyros and more. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the dancing, there will be lots of it, belly dancing, folk dancing, Serbian dancing and of course those attending will be encouraged to dance.  Organizers also have a great music line up including performances by bands Zougla, Urban Myth, Asi Somos, Dolphin Jazz and Golden Thread Orchestra, Jim Byrnes as well as Steve “Elvis” Elliot tribute artist.  When there are not live performances, a DJ will be spinning tunes.   The event takes place in the parking lot behind the Greek Orthodox Community Church of East Vancouver at 4641 Boundary Road which is located on the border of Vancouver and Burnaby.  If you are coming from Vancouver, the intersection is 29th Avenue. If you are coming from Burnaby, it is Moscrop.  The event is free to attend. Note, as there is food and lots of moving bodies, pets are not permitted and in the summer heat, they’ll be happier at home.
