Slide Into Summer Cooking Class For Kids At Gourmet Warehouse July 17-21

Gourmet Warehouse has a great line up of delish cooking classes year round.  If you happen to have a budding chef in your midst, or are looking for ways to keep your kids entertained this summer, Gourmet Warehouse has something for you.  They are again offering a week long cooking class Kids Can Cook to teach kids a host of skills in the kitchen.  The first session is already sold out, but there is currently space available in their Slide Into Summer Class happening July 17 – 21, 2023.   Classes are designed for kids aged 7 to 12. They will learn how to cut, cook, mix and bake some great recipes.  This is a hands-on class led by a trained chef, Deniz Tarakcioglu. Kids will learn to make a variety of dishes including handmade samosas, lemon meringue pie, chili and much more. We’ve pasted in the full menu below.   To register, visit Gourmet Warehouse online.

Pasta Like A Pro: Summery Southern Pasta – June 1, 2023

If you love fresh pasta and would like to learn how to make it from scratch, this is your class. Chef Deniz is back to teach you how to mix, roll, shape, and cook fresh pasta. In particular, this class will focus on the southern Italian style of pasta dough and how you can recreate it at home. You’ll also learn how to expertly make hand-shaped orcchiette and the perfect ragu companion as well as fresh maccheroni for those hot summer days. We’ve set out the delish menu below.

Date Night: Steakhouse Classics – June 7, 2023

Chef Deniz returns to educate you on the ins and outs of cooking steak. He will also discuss the ins and outs of buying, preparing, and cooking steak in its various forms. From Tartare to Cote de Boeuf (rib steak) this class will show you some of the most traditional ways to enjoy this choice ingredient and build your confidence for the next time you are at the butcher counter. Spring Floral Centerpiece Workshop At Gourmet Warehouse May 9th

Gourmet Warehouse is a great stop for the cook and baker. Whether you are on the hunt for supplies, ingredients or taking in a great cooking class.   This May Gourmet Warehouse is offering something a little different, a Sumptuous Spring Floral Centerpiece Workshop.  This is an evening hands-on workshop happening Tuesday, May 9th. Florist Pam Meyer of Meyer Floral will be guiding you through this step-by-step workshop on how to create the perfect spring centerpiece to grace your table.  All supplies will be provided from vase to stem with a selection of seasonal greenery and flowers in an array of colours. Add to that, while making your centerpiece, you will be able to enjoy charcuterie and a springtime cocktail when you arrive. And, of course, you will be leaving with your very own seasonal centerpiece. Pleats & Eats: Dicky’s Dumpling Workshop – April 5, 2023

You are invited to join Pearl and Dickson, the creators of Dicky’s Dumps, as they show you how to effortlessly make your new favourite dumplings. You will learn various different dumpling folds and pinches to create beautiful and authentic treats that are perfect for sharing. This class will focus on three unique fillings and different cooking styles to expand your dumpling mastery. Date Night – Dreaming Of Amalfi Coast – April 20, 2023

Paula will also show you unique and creative ways of serving these cheeses. For this demonstration class, each student will take home a kit so you can make 4 pounds of cheese at home along with online support.

Gourmet Warehouse Lines Up More Cooking Classes

If you are ready for in person events, Gourmet Warehouse has added more cooking classes to their Spring schedule. If you haven’t already experienced one of their classes, it is a great way to spend an afternoon or evening with some like-minded food lovers. We also like shopping after the cooking class as participants are offered a 10% discount for purchases made the day of your class. A Taste Of The Mediterranean – March 31, 2022

Chef Deniz Tarakcioglu returns to teach a cooking class that explores the incredible tastes of the Mediterranean. Chef Deniz draws from his own background to guide you through these vibrant, healthy dishes. These versatile recipes are perfect for everyday meal, entertaining or picnics.

• Crispy kale & feta pie with dill and best tzatziki
• Spicy lamb dumplings with merguez sausage, roasted garlic yogurt, and harissa
• Chicken souvlaki with lemon roasted potatoes and Greek salad with feta
• Walnut baklava with cream

Sprouted: Spring Vegetables Re-Imagined – April 6, 2022

Chef Brian Luptak and Shira Blustein of critically acclaimed Vancouver restaurant Acorn will teach you chef-perfected techniques to elevate your vegetables to the next level. Note the menu that will be prepared is vegetarian not vegan.

• Hop shoot salad with browned hazelnut butter and pickled hop shoots
• Rosemary roasted cabbage with Bavarian mustard cream and pickled vegetables
• Puff pastry tart with vanilla caramelized whey ricotta & red flowering currant jelly

Cuckoo For Keto – April 21, 2022

Chef Deniz Tarakcioglu will also lead this demonstration cooking class which invites you to think outside the box when preparing low carb food that’s tasty. He will help you level up your weekly meal plan with crispy halloumi. chorizo skewer, flavour-packed chicken and peanut lettuce wraps.
