Tinder Tales & Story Story Lie Team Up For Comedy Gold February 5th

Tinder Tales team up with Story Story Lie for an epic evening of storytelling on Wednesday, February 5th at the Rio Theatre. If you haven’t heard, Tinder Tales is a Toronto based comedic story telling show that has been selling out across Canada including Vancouver.  Story Story Lie brought to by the talented MC Jo Dworschak brings you a group of story tellers who will regaling you with stories of unreal dating experiences. The catch of course is all the stories are TRUE, save for ONE. One’s a liar. Can you spot the liar?   The fun kicks off at 7:00 pm on February 5th. Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 at the door. Smash Hit Motherload Returns To The Cultch October 4-15, 2016

motherloadThe smash hit Motherload returns to The Cultch, 1895 Venables Street, from October 4th to 15th.   This show is an intimate account of parenting in the modern age.  Four prominent Canadian theatre artists share their personal stories of motherhood.  They will be drawing on personal experiences such as playground conversations, coffee shop confessions and the issue of isolation that many moms feel while some get into ‘competitive mommying’.   By sharing their real life stories of parenthood, they hope to’ lighten the collective load’.  Motherload kicks off October 4th with a preview show, opening night is October 5th and the show runs until October 15th. For those wishing to check out a matinee show, there will be two performances at 2:00 pm on October 9th and 15th. Vancouver Story Slam At The Cottage Bistro July 12

VanStorySlamJuly12You are invited to an evening of original stories on July 12th at the Cottage Bistro, 4470 Main Street. The event is hosted by Vancouver Story Slam which is organized by Susan Cormier and hosted by Bryant Ross. Ten storytellers will take the stage and share their original stories with you. Those participating in July include Alexis Sugden, Bailey Bjolin, James, Jim Murray, Kyla del Rosario, Lozan Yamolky, Mary Parlange, Ryan Uytdewilligen, Shlomo McPeake and Susan Levang.  The evening opens with a tale by guest performer J.P. Lorence. The event is $5 and that also gets you a ballot giving you the opportunity to vote on your favourite story.  There are cash prizes awarded to the winners.
