Make It! At The PNE Forum – December 12th – 16th

Over 240 makers will be under one roof at the PNE Forum this Friday (day and evening) and Saturday and Sunday.  We are sure you can tick a lot of boxes off your Christmas shopping list in this space.  While you shop we hear there are food trucks and a beer garden for sustenance.  Admission is $8 and children 12 and under are free. Bakery Pop Up les amis du fromage – 843 East Hastings –December 15th

Need some fresh baking for your holiday get together this weekend? Head over to les amis du fromage’s East Van location where guest baker Lauren Ritchie will be on hand 11 am – 4 pm with bread and other sweet treats. While there stock up on some great cheeses for your holiday party.  They have an amazing selection.

Jones General Store Holiday Market – Cambrian Hall – December 15th

Looking for a different shopping experience, Jones General Store hosts their first Holiday Market at the Cambrian Hall this Saturday from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm. Great line of vendors with local handmade items alongside vintage. Add to that mistletoe, music and movies.

The ARC Holiday Makers Market – 1701 Powell Street – December 15th

You are invited to stop by and shop directly from artists this weekend at the Arc’s Holiday Makers Market happening at 1701 Powell Street from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm. You will find small-batch makers & crafters from The Arc and surrounding neighbourhood.

Holiyay Pop Up At Crème de La Crumb – 1215 Clark Drive – December 16th

Crème de la Crumb is hosting a Pop Up Shop this Sunday 11:00 am – 4:00 pm with Bluebird Cakery and a few other vendors at their location at 1215 Clark Drive.  They will also be offering a FREE kids cookie decorating station throughout the day.  Lots of good reasons to stop by.

Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever – Havana Theatre – Until December 16th

This is the last weekend to catch the Best Little Christmas Pageant Ever showing a Havana Theatre on The Drive. Local theatre company, Naked Goddess Productions, brings you a fun holiday production about six siblings who take over a Christmas pageant and all the nuttiness that ensures.  Of course, Havana Restaurant is a great spot for a bite In advance of the show.  Tickets are $24 for adults and $18 for seniors/children and available through Showpass.

Documentary ‘This Mountain Life’ – Rio Theatre – December 15th & 16th

A documentary with stunning visuals follows Martina and her 60 year-old mother Tania who embark on a 6 month, 2300 km journey from Squamish, BC to Alaska through a relentless mountain wilderness.  This Mountain Life is being shown this Saturday and Sunday afternoon at the Rio Theatre. So if you wish to head in doors away from the rain and take in some stunning views, this is your ticket.

East Van Panto: Wizard of Oz – The York 

The East Van Panto continue this weekend at the York Theatre. This is a whole lot of fun for all ages. You can’t help but laugh at the fun digs and political references which poke fun at the unique aspects of our City.  We highly recommend this for a fun night out, or if you prefer a matinee. Tickets available via The Cultch.

Daisy Theatre: A Christmas Carol – The Cultch Until December 22nd

If you have not seen Ronnie Burkett perform with his Daisy Theatre, you truly are missing out.  This production, which is puppets for adults, is back at The Cultch and runs till December 22nd.  A must see for a fun night out.

Comedy, Entertainment & Live Music

Looking for live music, Libra Room on The Drive has a regular line up of music. Tangent Café hosts live jazz Sunday nights  from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Saturday, Pat’s Pub has live jazz Saturday afternoons from 3-7 pm, no cover.

Two winter farmer markets happen this weekend. Saturday it’s the Riley Park Farmers Market from a0:00 am to 2:00 pm and Sunday, the Hastings Park Farmers Market also happens from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. To see more of what’s on in East Vancouver, check our Event Listing.
