Italian Culinary & Brewery Tour – Vancouver Brewery Tours – January 18th & 19th
Vancouver Brewery Tours is offering a delish dining experience featuring Italian food and great local beer. Get picked up at Waterfront Station and you will be driven to each location in your tour which is 3.5 hours. Circle Game: Reimagining The Music Of Joni Mitchell – Firehall Arts Centre – January 12th
The Firehall Arts Centre brings the music of a Canadian icon to the stage again this weekend with the Circle Game: Reimagining the Music of Joni Mitchell. A stellar line up of musicians will be performing her songs as of this Saturday. For tickets information, visit Firehall Arts Centre.
Mrs. Krishnan’s Party – The Cultch – To February 3rd
You are invited to a party and you the audience members are in fact part of the harvest festival, Onam. This is a spontaneous theatrical celebration that is part performance, part improv that takes place in the back of a convenience store that Mrs. Krishnan owns. An energetic wannabe DJ and boarder hosts a party in the back room and you get to see first hand how it unfolds. There’s lights, music, dance and daal. This is a fun production which will be sure to have you laughing. Tickets are available online at The Cultch.
The Open House – Havana Theatre – January 18th & 19th
The Open House is offers something a little different than your usual family drama where all problems are solved in 2 hours. Instead this is billed as a wildly subversive and darkly funny take on family drama. Production takes place at Havana Theatre Friday night and Saturday there’s a matinee and evening show. Tickets are $27 – $25 and available through Showpass.
Comedy, Entertainment & Live Music
Looking for more live music, did you know The Heatley in Strathcona regularly features live music? Every Sunday they offer bluegrass music with brunch 11 am – 3 pm.
Also 7 days a week, you will find live music at the Libra Room on The Drive. Tangent Café hosts live jazz Sunday nights from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Saturday, Pat’s Pub has live jazz Saturday afternoons from 3-7 pm, no cover.
Looking to shop local? Be sure to check out one of the farmer markets happening this weekend. Saturday is Riley Park Farmers Market 10 am – 2 pm.
