The Public Dreams Society will be presenting their Illuminares Lantern Festival and Procession on July 20th. This marks their 25th anniversary and to honour that they will be celebrating their theme “25 Light Years”. Illuminares has been described as an iconic part of the cultural landscape in Vancouver and has been named ‘Best East Vancouver Festival’ by the Vancouver Courier newspaper. The Lantern Festival has something for all ages and is not an event to be missed.

Did you guys heard that dates have year part too? Based on your page, how do I know which year are you refering to?
Fair comment. We were trying to amend the theme so it would show automatically, but were unable and honestly we didn’t realize the site would gain the momentum it has and continue for as long as it has. We will be adding dates for 2016, so anything without is outdated. Thanks for your comment.
Sadly, this festival is dead, dead, dead. It’s 2017, and there’s no indication of when this was posted. Dates/days don’t line up, so… please take this down or amend it so it doesn’t get our hopes up! We really, truly miss this event. Vancouver really is “No Fun City.”
Yes, we are also disappointed that this event is dead dead dead and the date within does state 2014. BUT there’s hope. Trout Lake is doing a smaller scale event end of August, currently on our Events Listing, plus Still Moon Arts Society does an amazing event with lanterns mid-September. Recommend you watch for this one, don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
