It will be wet this weekend, or so we expect, so run down lots of indoor activities.
June Hunter Studio Sale – 2785 Parker Street – Sept. 21st & 22nd
East Van artist, June Hunter, is hosting a Studio Sale this Friday and Saturday from her studio space in Hastings Sunrise. She has many new designs including scarves, totes, cushion covers and as always will have some natured inspired jewellery and prints. This is a laid back shopping experience in which you walk through her idyllic back yard to get to her studio. We expect goodies to nibble on as well wine and/or sangria. Studio Sale happens Friday 2:00 to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Make It! 10 Year Anniversary Market – Croatian Cultural Centre – Sept. 21st & 22nd
Have a birthday to shop for? Maybe you are looking to get a jump on Christmas. Sorry, we just know those early birds are out there. This Friday and Saturday, is a great opportunity to support your local economy and stop by Make It! 10 Year Anniversary Market at the Croatian Cultural Centre. Event happens Friday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and Saturday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Admission is $3.00 and can be purchased in advance through Eventbrite or at the door.
Eastside Flea Opening New Location – Sept. 21st to 23rd
The Eastside Flea home to many local artists and vendors of vintage and collectibles has moved to a new bigger location at 550 Malkin Avenue. It’s opening weekend for them this weekend. Friday they are kicking things off 7:00 pm till late. Saturday and Sunday the fun continue with live vinyl deejays and drink specials between 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. The Eastside Flea runs 11:00 am – 5:00 pm on both Saturday & Sunday.
Free Drive-In Movie – River District – September 22nd
River District is hosting free drive-in movies this Saturday, September 22nd. The double feature this weekend will feature Ant Man & The Wasp at 7:15 pm and Solo: A Star Wars Movie at 9:30 pm. Gates open at 6:30 pm.
Ice Cream Social – Beta 5 Chocolates – September 22nd & 23rd
Beta 5 Chocolates is hosting a delish Ice Cream Social this weekend. Fruit Loop profiteroles with fruit loop cereal, milk ice cream and fior de latte ice cream, drizzled with peach coulis. Hello! Need we say more.
Veg Fest 2018 – 102 East 4th Avenue – September 23rd
Two dozen of BC’s plant based vendors will be participating in Veg Fest 2018 at 102 East 4th Avenue located just West of Main Street this Sunday. The market style food fest happens from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. These are a wide variety vendors including Dipped Doughnut Co., plant based cheese from Blue Heron, Chickpea, Kula Kitchen and more. Fall Equinox Coffee House – Britannia Community Centre – Sept. 23rd
You are invited for an evening of live music, poetry, coffee and great company. Everyone is welcome. Event happens 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
Live Music, Comedy & Entertainment
If you are looking for something a bit racey this weekend, Dave Savage is hosting The Hump Film Festival at the Rio Theatre all weekend. If it’s live music you are after, we hear the Libra Room has a regular line up of music. Tangent Café hosts live jazz Sunday nights from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. If you prefer to get out the rain Saturday, Pat’s Pub has live jazz Saturday afternoons from 3-7 pm, no cover.
Three Farmer Markets happening this weekend – Saturday it’s Riley Park (10 am – 2 pm) and Trout Lake (9 am – 2 pm) and Sunday, Mount Pleasant Farmers Market in Dude Chilling Park from 10 am – 2 pm. To see more of what’s on in East Vancouver, check our Event Listing.
